These Terms of Service ("Terms" or "TOU") govern your access to and use of Repret (the "Service"), a thesis management system. By accessing or using Repret, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.
Repret reserves the right to update and modify these Terms at any time. The most current version of the Terms can be reviewed by clicking on the "Terms of Service" hypertext link located at the bottom of our web pages. When we make updates to the Terms, Repret will update the date at the top of this page. By using the Service after a new version of the Terms has been posted, you agree to the terms of such new version.
You must be affiliated with a participating academic institution and have valid academic credentials to use Repret.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. Repret will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by Repret or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time without the permission of the account holder.

The Service may contain email services, bulletin board services, chat areas, forums, communities, personal web pages, calendars, and/or other message or communication facilities designed to enable you to communicate with others (collectively, "Communication Services"). You agree to use the Communication Services only to post, send, and receive messages and material that are proper and, when applicable, related to the particular Communication Service.
When using Communication Services, you agree that you will not:
Repret has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, Repret reserves the right to review materials posted to the Communication Services and to remove any materials in its sole discretion, as well as to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time, without notice, for any reason whatsoever.
You retain intellectual property rights to your thesis content, subject to the licenses granted herein and your institution's policies. You are solely responsible for the content you submit.
By uploading, posting, inputting, providing or submitting ("Posting") content to Repret, you grant Repret, its affiliated companies and necessary sublicensees permission to use your content in connection with the operation of the Service, including, without limitation, the license rights to: copy, distribute, transmit, display, store, reproduce, edit, translate, and reformat your content; to publish your name in connection with your content; and the right to sublicense such rights to any supplier of the Services.
No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your content as provided herein. Repret is under no obligation to post or use any content you may provide and may remove any content at any time in its sole discretion.
By posting content to Repret, you warrant and represent that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your content as described in these Terms including, without limitation, all the rights necessary for you to provide, post, upload, input or submit the content.
Your academic institution may have rights to your thesis content according to their academic policies. Nothing in these Terms overrides institutional intellectual property policies.
All content included in or made available through the Services, such as text, graphics, logos, icons, images, sounds, music, digital downloads, data compilation, software, and documents is the exclusive property of Repret or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable trade dress, copyright, trademark, patent, and other intellectual property and unfair competition laws. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms are reserved and retained by Repret or its licensors, suppliers, publishers, rightsholders, or other content providers.
You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products or services obtained from the Services.
We reserve the right to determine access levels based on user role (student, supervisor, administrator) and institutional requirements.
While we strive to maintain continuous availability, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. Scheduled maintenance and updates may result in temporary unavailability.
You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining equipment and internet connections needed to access the Service.
Any software that is made available to download from the Services is the copyrighted work of Repret and/or its suppliers. Use of the Software is governed by the terms of the end user license agreement, if any, which accompanies or is included with the Software ("License Agreement"). An end user will be unable to install any Software that is accompanied by or includes a License Agreement, unless the user first agrees to the License Agreement terms.
The Software is made available for download solely for use by end users according to the License Agreement. Any reproduction or redistribution of the Software not in accordance with the License Agreement is expressly prohibited by law, and may result in severe civil and criminal penalties. Violators will be prosecuted to the maximum extent possible.
Your thesis content and related data will be stored on secure servers in South Africa in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We implement regular backup procedures, but you are encouraged to maintain personal backups of critical thesis content.
We retain your data as outlined in our Privacy Policy and in accordance with institutional requirements.
We may send you service-related announcements through the system or via your registered email address.
The Service facilitates communication between students and supervisors. All communications are stored and may be accessible to authorized institutional staff.
You may terminate your account at any time, subject to institutional data retention policies.
